We often do a very good job in our churches and movements proclaiming the gospel of grace to nonbelievers. But we do not always do such a good job applying that grace to each other or to oursleves. How do we hold together the tension between grace alone in salvation and God’s call to righteous living? How do we avoid the opposing dangers of either leaning too far to one side where we fail to love God through obedience or leaning too far to the other side where we promote a legalistic standard that everyone must live up to?

We will focus on Genesis 15 where God uses an Ancient Near East covenant form to communicate to Abraham the radical reality of His grace.
